14th IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (CMBS'01)
Bethesda, Maryland
March 26-March 27
ISBN: 0-7695-1004-3
Csaba J. Egyhazy, Virginia Tech
Abstract: In general, this paper is about the implementation of standard interface specifications in the using distributed software component technology (e.g., CORBA). In particular, this paper reports on the experience with one in particular, namely the implementation of the Clinical Observation Access Service (COAS). The implementation of such a standard required, for example, the definition of medical domain templates that define the structure of the "on the wire" data transport between COAS compliant systems. Most of this paper describes the approach we used at developing such templates.
