Abstract: The aim of this project is to develop a new approach for correction of bone deformities using a computer-aided surgery tool. We use a measurement based planning of correction on CT data and ultrasound based navigation system for real-time support of operation. We implement a single cut, close and open wedge osteotomy correction of complex three dimensional deformities. In the discussed method virtual reality and image processing techniques allows planning and supporting of the operation on a personal computers. The designed software prototype simplifies significantly the process of osteotomy planning and allows training and assisting a surgeon. The program reduces total time of the operation planning and increase accuracy of correction significantly.
