14th IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (CMBS'01) Time Series Analysis of Bio-Medical Signals Bethesda, Maryland March 26-March 27 ISBN: 0-7695-1004-3
Abstract: This study presents Time Series Analysis of Bio-Medical Signals utilizing the method of Relative Power Contribution (RPC). At first, the spatial relationship of the movement of the lips, chin and throat in the swallowing function is presented while wearing dentures and without dentures. In the case of patients wearing dentures it was observed that the relationship between the lips, chin and throat improved more significantly and than without dentures. Next, the relationship of the movement of the knee and pelvis while walking with an injured foot is presented. In the case of patients walking with an injured foot it was observed that the pelvis on the good side of the leg supported the knee. The RPC expresses the degree of contribution of the other variables to a variable. Using this analysis of RPC, it can help make a more effective plan of kinesitherapy in rehabilitation for the improvement of each patient.
