In this paper, I?ll report the learning in a distance and collaborative course that connected Kyoto University and UCLA. This course on Kyoto University side consisted of various activities, for example, a distance lecture by instructors and guest speakers, a visit to UCLA, group work for designing educational content by using squeak, an open workshop held with Horikawa high school. I noticed in the quantitative and qualitative data collected to research the various activities that students in this course at Kyoto University have experienced authentic learning with others mediated by information technology or computers.
