Third International Conference on Automated Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-Channel Distribution (AXMEDIS'07) The New Hybrid Library. Audiovisual and Digital Resources. Barcelona, Spain November 28-November 30 ISBN: 0-7695-3030-3
The aim is to present how audiovisuals, a resource that contains digital components can be catalogued, indexed and preserved. Nowadays, the development of the internet has rapidly increased the volume of artistic literature and the exchange of information. But information is volatile and we must find a way to incorporate this information into our libraries. We argue that a computerized catalogue is the best instrument as well as the traditional work of the librarian, in cataloguing and indexing continue to be vital to incorporate this information always paying attention to the international cataloguing regulation and the exchange of information like the new format MARC 21. In the target T856 it allows us to establish links with websites, with digital information that we have stored in our computer if we consider it to be relevant and can complete our bibliographic resources. If computerization converted the libraries into centres of documentation, digital information should convert them into centres for internet surfing in such a way that together with the printed collection it completes and integrates a block of information and makes up the so-called hybrid library.
