This paper describes the use of agent-based modeling in large, generalized data systems for microsimulation studies.

First, authors present the relevant characteristics of the microsimulation application field, where agent-based models can be developed, and examine some of the salient problems and opportunities. After a short analysis of a specific meta-database, Web-service technologies, agent-based modeling techniques are discussed. Authors show how selected technologies can be applied to support agent-based, dynamic microsimulation model development. Finally, references are made to the practical use and an example is presented. The paper concludes with a summary of research results and future plans.
