The task of identifying software components, dispersed worldwide and that meet business requirements, is a challenging issue in component-based development processes. In such a context, some component repositories have been proposed by industry and academia to allow component sharing. However, current repositories suffer from limitations related to distribution, scalability, access control and authentication issues. In this sense, this paper presents a service-oriented, distributed and secure infrastructure for large scale sharing of software components. Besides, the proposed infrastructure includes some interfaces, used by external entities to deal with component search, certification and trading, providing flexibility to the solution as a whole.
