Delivering live streaming content over the Internet requires low delay and smooth packet transmission rate. TCP introduces rate oscillations and requires more buffering andbandwidth to sustain uninterrupted playback. In this paper we propose a new framework which??facilitates streaming flows. Our solution provides a smoother rate control than TCP and improves streaming performance based on cross layer feedback between the transport protocol and streaming server. We present our experimental results through simulation.
