M.Yokota et al have proposed the distributed intelligent robot network (DIRN) as one kind of wireless sensor and actor networks (WSANs) consisting of one brain node and numerous sensor and actor nodes with human-friendly interfaces. In order to realize wellcoordinated DIRNs, it is very important to develop a systematically computable knowledge representation language universal for any kind of device as well as efficient networking technologies. As a candidate for this purpose, the multimedia description language Lmd was evaluated by applying it to integrated multimedia understanding and various cross-media operations in simulation of DIRN-world interaction.
