Future networks, being IP based, present a number of challenges, not directly related with specific technology limitations but motivated by the need of integration of a number of different functions and systems that make real operators' networks and supporting systems. Therefore, the provision of end to end QoS architecture must be designed in an integrated way, understanding the environment, foreseeing new applications and services, without forgetting traditional ones that will still be used for a long time. This paper describes the QoS architecture and the corresponding QoS entities under development inside the IST/FP6 Integrated Project Daidalos1 and its relation with multimedia services provisioning, intended to run in future B3G networks.
