2009 First Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems Quantitative Analysis of the Error Propagation Phenomenon in Distributed Information Systems Dong hoi, Quang binh, Vietnam April 01-April 03 ISBN: 978-0-7695-3580-7
Error propagation analysis is of fundamental importance to assure safe operation and management of abnormal situations in any distributed information system. In this paper, the quantitative method is proposed to analyze all possible error propagation scenarios based on different topologies, error types and probabilities. The stated thesis was verified based on the experiments conducted on simulation model. From a safety point of view, the results provide some ideas of robustness: the knowledge how to design the most error resistant architectures.
