Because of many misgivings and myths regarding open source's state of maturity, organizations often struggle to make informed software adoption decisions. The authors systematically apply a generally accepted set of requirements-oriented criteria to a representative set of open source software. Their approach and the data they collected offer a practical roadmap to navigating this new landscape.
