The latest trends in distributed and mobile collaboration (DMC) technologies allow people to move across organizational boundaries and to collaborate with others within/between organizations and communities. This report summarizes the presentations of the first IEEE International Workshop on Distributed and Mobile Collaboration (DMC) at WETICE 2003.
The DMC Workshop included 10 full papers and 2 short paper presentations covering topics such as collaboration and coordination, DMC frameworks and architectures, Issues in peer-to-peer systems, and design issues. The workshop results open intriguing challenges in the emerging research field of distributed collaborative systems for mobile teams.
