The Subset Difference (SD) method proposed by D. Naor et al. is one of the most efficient group key distribution techniques. Recently a polynomial based solution for key distribution was proposed by D. Liu et al., which requires a similar message size as the SD method, but also provides self-healing feature. In this paper, we propose a self-healing feature for the SD method, and present some optimization techniques to reduce the overhead caused by the self-healing capability.
