Abstract: The Software Enabled Control (SEC) program is a research program funded by the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The goal of SEC is to develop new controls and software technology that will enable new control applications that are impractical or intractable using current approaches. This paper describes the Open Control Platform (OCP) which is a key element of SEC. OCP provides the enabling software infrastructure that will facilitate the transitioning of controls designs to embedded targets. OCP enables controls designer to focus on the controls technology instead of the software technology needed to transition designs to Real-Time(RT) embedded platforms. The OCP is being developed by the Embedded Systems Research Team within the Boeing Phantom Works Open Systems organization. Assisting Boeing in these efforts are the Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT), Honeywell Labs, and the University of California Berkeley (UCB). The OCP is being delivered to a host of university and industrial researchers who are participating in the SEC program.
