In this paper we propose an architecture of a generic fault-tolerant graphical environment and a tool for modelling a concrete distributed environment. The generic environment provides support for the construction, configuration, execution, monitoring, and evolution of distributed applications. The environment can be installed to be robust to guarantee the continuity of its service in presence of node failures. Although in this work the environment has been focused on the Ada programming language, it is also suitable for other languages and platforms.
