The simultaneous progress on sensor and signal processing technologies stimulate the implementation of more refined pattern recognition systems in order to solve problems of increasing complexity. This progress induced the development of the here presented framework for the fusion of chromatic, infrared and textural information. The framework is based on different aspects of the processing of visual information in the human brain. Some organizational principles of the multi-sensorial information fusion in higher associative areas are also reflected on it. Preliminary results, realized on hand of a simplified version of the framework, show the validity of the bio-inspired approach on the resolution of the multi-sensorial image fusion.
