New 60 GHz High-Speed Wide Campus Network

A high-speed wireless network has been constructed that utilizes the newly approved 60 GHz frequency band. In Japan, this newly allocated millimeter wave can be used without a license. The system configuration and the experimental results are shown. The prototype system has been constructed at the Waseda University campus and the operation of this system is confirmed. Then the transmission characteristics in the experiments show very good and this system can provide the remote lecture service and seminar, etc.
