This paper introduces a new data structure for managing electronic content for e-learning purposes, the so called content graph. On the base of these formalisms several aspects of individualized, dynamic learning environments are discussed. These aspects focus on the integrative use of different metadata sets within a common content graph, the individualization and a situation-based adaptation of the learning process to the situation of the learner, the evaluation of different didactical concepts on the base of an identical set of content-units and the integration of authors as well as learner sin a feedback-oriented editorial process that increases the transparency and the quality of the learning material.
