The performance of asynchronous data traffic in Bluetooth piconets is very much dependent on the choice of the polling scheme. In this paper we consider the problem of designing efficient and fair, yet simple to implement, polling schemes that would achieve best performance (i.e., the lowest end-to-end packet delay) under TCP traffic. A number of such schemes are described and their performance is compared against some benchmark schemes derived from the known results for polling systems.
