Abstract: In recent years, the progress of Web technology has made more demanding and pervasive of Web-based information systems (WISs). These WISs support not only processing business data to achieve user goals, but also navigating the user through Web resources to get desired information. This paper represents an object-oriented method for the analysis and design of WISs. The method uses a use case analysis approach to identify system entities and Web resources that accomplish user requirements. The analysis and design of these entities/resources are performed then by using and maturing class diagrams and object message/link diagrams. The method is illustrated by applying to a conference Web site.
