This paper describes how a pattern based approach to knowledge management was applied in Verbundplan GmbH (VPL), Austria, as part of the recently finished IST project HyperKnowledge. The approach employed - Enterprise Knowledge Patterns - integrates participative enterprise modelling and organisational patterns for knowledge capture and sharing. The approach was supported by the RETH tool developed by Siemens Austria. The application of the approach has resulted in a repository of best business practices now available on VPL?s intranet.
