New generation e-commerce applications require data schemas that are constantly evolving and sparsely populated. This paper describes the design of a model as well as an architecture to provide support for distributed advanced work-flow transactions. We also consider the problem of on-line workflow database reorganization. We complement our algorithms with experimental results.
