Actually, there are analyzed many applications inside the Ka and upper bands around the world. However, when a link is implemented at frequencies above 10 GHz, the attenuation due to the rain and others weather effects increases considerably. Therefore. the implementation of channel models that they allow to characterize the attenuation due to these factors is necessary.
A Ka-band channel model which is able to take into account weather impairments is proposed for the analysis of the operation of FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) systems based on HAPS (High Altitude Platform Stations). The weather effects are taken in consideration using a time series generator obtained by simulation. The BER performance of the system under the proposed channel model are obtained and compared.
