Single time constant (STC) is that circuit composed of, or can be reduced to, one reactive component and one resistance. A STC circuit formed of a capacitance C and a resistance R has a time constant \tau = RC.
Although STC circuit is quite simple it plays a significant role in the project and analysis of linear and digital circuits. In this paper a charge time of a capacitance has been evaluated using a microconverter ADuC812. A time measurement is obtained employing 12 bits converter ADC0 input, DAC0 and DAC1 outputs included in the microconverter. Several time constants were used and results obtained were excellent.
