In this work, a multi-sine DSP-based network analyzer is presented. The system is based on the Motorola's DSP56002EVM evaluation board and it gives the ability to measure the frequency response of linear time-invariant systems. The development of the system includes the implementation of a steep descent algorithm for the generation of a low peak factor multi-sine driving signal. The DSP board reads back the system's response at different frequencies and evaluates magnitude and phase data for plotting and analysis purposes. Future applications include analysis, verification and system identification projects.
