This paper is intended to review the various color printing technologies that are commercially available today. A brief discussion of subtractive color principles is also given. Four electronic printing technology categories are discussed and the various forms these technologies take are also discussed. Color electronic printing technology is now available to almost anyone with the inclination to use it. With color, significant enhancement of information as well as electronic photography are available to the ordinary user. A basic understanding of the printer technologies will help the reader better understand what actually takes place in the color printing device they intend to use.
