17th IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (CBMS'04)

Csaba J. Egyhazy, Virginia Tech
In this paper, we report on the development of a software tool that will accept an XML file containing genetic data and dynamically generate database tables in which to load the data. Two recent developments lead us to develop such a tool. First, an increasing number of traditional clinical researchers want access to genetic data. Secondly, researchers want the ability to load the genetic data into a relational database for querying purposes. In addition, genetic data stored in relational databases can easily be joined with other related data stored in table form.
