In this poster paper, we present a snapshot of our ongoing work on improving energy efficiency in power adaptive broadcast using local information. We take Chen et al. work as our starting point and improve on this work. In our proposal we introduce an improved algorithm for deciding transmission power level. We also attempt to further increase energy savings by reducing the redundant transmission by including an efficient forward node set selection algorithm. In the rest of this paper, we summarize the approach taken by Chen et al. and present our improvements on their algorithm.
