In this paper we develop a general, theoretical temporal model for discussing synchronization and specification scheme. A temporal algebra is constructed to deal with qualitative and quantitative temporal relationships and to reason about definite and indefinite time. The algebra integrates instant points and even intervals. Several computation tables are proposed, and each table include a set of complete temporal logics. The synchronization models are generalized by composing point-interval temporal relations with qualitative and quantitative functions. The mechanism is efficiently to eliminate conflict specification and to generate synchronization scenarios. The timed framework can also handle knowledge queries, presentation schedule, and composing of the temporal semantics among distributed multimedia objects.
