Bill Yeager, Dynamical Systems Research
Stanford University received a Christmas present from Xerox PARC in 1979: several Xerox Alto workstations, Ethernet hardware, and documentation on network protocols. My director asked me to figure out how to link the Stanford Medical Center where I worked to the computer science and electrical engineering departments across campus. I thus embarked on a project that led to the invention of the Internet multiple-protocol Ethernet router. This story picks five years later in the spring of 1985.
