As mobile-Web technology becomes increasingly pervasive, the market for wallpaper images for cell phones has grown remarkably. In spite of this growth, customers experience much frustration when searching for images. VISCORS (Visual Contents Recommender System) increases search efficiency by combining collaborative filtering with content-based image retrieval. An experiment involving real mobile-Web customers confirmed that VISCORS is a realistic solution for recommending wallpaper images in large-scale databases.
