Internet of Things Conf. 26–28 March 2008 Zurich, Switzerland
The term "Internet of Things" (IOT) has come to describe a number of technologies and research disciplines that enable the Internet to reach out into the real world of physical objects. Technologies like radio-frequency identification, short-range wireless communications, real-time localization, and sensor networks are becoming increasingly common. This conference invites authors to submit papers on novel services and applications in an IOT; emerging IOT business models and process changes; technologies and concepts for embedding sensing, actuation, communication, and computation into networked things; and the security and privacy aspects of IOT infrastructures and applications.

IEEE J. Selected Topics in Signal Processing
Special issue on genomic and proteomic signal processing
The motivation of this special issue is to bring to light the increasing role of genomic and proteomic signal processing in bioinformatics and to disseminate important issues in medicine and biology to the signal processing community. The overall goal is to feature recent advances in the area of genomic and proteomic signal processing and highlight emerging challenges and applications. Potential topics include signal processing and statistical methods in genomic and proteomic sequence analysis, data mining and pattern recognition methods, signals and systems theory techniques for systems biology, and microarray image and data analysis.
Prospective authors should submit their manuscripts by 1 September 2007. Authors are advised to follow the journal's author guide for formatting manuscripts (detailed at http://ewh.ieee.org/soc/sps/tsp). Manuscripts will undergo a standard peer-review process.
