Podcasts related to the issue's popular columns include author Grady Booch providing an audio recording of his On Computing column, in which he peers behind the curtain of computing into the mystery behind software-intensive systems; author Diomidis Spinellis providing an audio recording of his Tools of the Trade column, in which he discusses how whether to write portable code or not should be the outcome of a cost-benefit analysis; and author Jane Cleland-Huang providing an audio recording of her Requirements column, in which she discusses how architecturally-savvy personas provide a tangible approach for capturing performance, reliability, security, and other quality goals and for reasoning about their impact on system design.

Additional multimedia highlights include an overview of the IBM Impact 2013 Unconference, Tim O'Reilly and Grady Booch discussing the IBM Impact 2013 Conference, David Weiss discussing the benefits of using software product line engineering to produce software families.

Also included in this issue is a video preview of the Software Experts Summit 2013, presented by IEEE Software, with a focus on Smart Data Science: Harnessing Data for Intelligent Decision Making.
