The Paradox of Security in Virtual Environments

In a virtual environment, a virtual machine monitor (VMM) controls multiple VMs through a software abstraction of the underlying hardware. This architecture provides distinct security advantages but also introduces unique security challenges. Ironically, the advancements in computing power, affordability, and ubiquity that led to the original decline of virtualization are now contributing to its rebirth.
