Augmented Reality in the Classroom

Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged from the lab to use in everyday applications, including education. In this article we provide an overview of how AR has been used in a number of educational settings and the potential for AR to enhance learning. In particular we focus on a number of questions that need to be addressed before AR can be more widely used in education; 1) What technology is needed to provide educational AR experiences? 2) Can AR be used effectively for education? 3) In which cases is AR better than other tools for education?
