CSDP Beta Exam Program Details

As part of the refresh of the CSDP examination that will debut in late Q1’10, the IEEE Computer Society has announced a special program to attract 200 worldwide candidates to take the new CSDP beta examination. The window for the CSDP beta examination will only be open from 18 November – 12 December 2009. Candidates can take the computer-based examination at any Prometric test center worldwide.   

 
The refresh of the CSDP examination will bring it in alignment with the 2010 refresh of the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK) and also in line with current software engineering industry trends. Additionally, the changes will maintain the CSDP’s standing with ISO-IEC standards for software engineering certifications.

To prepare for the beta exam, the IEEE Computer Society is offering $295* special bundle that consists of the following:

     -  Current CSDP e-learning course ($395 member value)

     -  CSDP beta examination ($450 member value)

     -  2004 Version of the SWEBOK Guide ($55 member value)

     -  Supplemental materials to prepare for the new knowledge areas in the CSDP examination

 
This offer is limited to 200 participants worldwide and will expire on 16 October 2009.  There are no refunds once the bundle has been purchased.

Once your CSDP application has been received and approved and payment made, within 24 business hours you will be given access to the e-learning course and will receive an email with the supplemental materials as PDF documents. The SWEBOK Guide will then be mailed to you via standard mail. Beta exam results will be available in February 2010. A passing score on the CSDP Beta examination results in the CSDP credential.
