Who are We?
With nearly 85,000 members, the 64-year-old IEEE Computer Society is the world's premier organization of computing professionals, with rich offerings in publications, standards, certifications, conferences, and more.
Over 1,000 software development practitioners have advanced their career opportunities through CSDA and CSDP certification
The Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK), developed and maintained by the IEEE Computer Society, describes generally accepted knowledge about software engineering. Its Knowledge Areas (KAs) summarize basic concepts and include a reference list pointing to more detailed information.
The SWEBOK Guide is used world-wide as the basis for software engineering curricula and is followed in industry by both corporations and practitioners. The 2004 Guide gained international recognition as ISO Technical Report 19759, and in 2011 the Guide is being updated as Version 3.
