Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TCPAMI)
Home Page
The TC on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TCPAMI) is concerned with pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, expert systems, natural language understanding, image processing, and computer vision. Its interests include methodology, applications, systems organization, and technology. The TC sponsors the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference and the Artificial Intelligence Applications Conference, as well as the Workshop on Computer Architecture for Pattern and Machine Intelligence, the Conference on Applied Imagery Pattern recognition, and the Workshop on Computer Vision.

IEEE 4th IEEE Workshop on Human Computer Interaction (with ICCV), Rio de Janeiro
Human computer interaction (HCI) is one of the foremost challenges of our society. New paradigms for interacting with computers are being developed which will define the 21st century and enable the world to communicate and interact effortlessly and intuitively. In order for HCI systems to interact seamlessly with people, they will need to understand their environment through vision and auditory input. Moreover, HCI systems should learn how to adaptively and intelligently respond depending on the context. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers whose work is related to human computer interaction.
IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR)
IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV)
IEEE Conference on Advanced Video and Signal Based Surveillance (AVSS)
IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG)
IEEE Workshop on Motion and Video Computing (MOTION)
IEEE Workshop on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV)
International Conference on Computer Vision Systems (ICVS)

Journals

The IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (PAMI) is published monthly. Its Editorial Board strives to publish papers that present important research results within PAMI's scope. These include statistical and structural pattern recognition; image analysis; computational models of vision; computer vision systems; enhancement, restoration, segmentation, feature extraction, shape and texture analysis; applications of pattern analysis in medicine, industry, government, and the arts and sciences; artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, logical and probabilistic inference, learning, speech recognition, character and text recognition, syntactic and semantic processing, understanding natural language, expert systems, and specialized architectures for such processing.quential-to-parallel forms.

Magazines

IEEE Intelligent Systems, a bimonthly publication of the IEEE Computer Society, covers new tools, techniques, concepts, and current research and development activities in intelligent systems. The magazine serves software engineers, systems designers, information managers, knowledge engineers, and professionals in finance, manufacturing, medicine, law, and geophysical sciences.

IEEE Pervasive Computing delivers the latest peer-reviewed developments in pervasive, mobile, and ubiquitous computing to developers, researchers, and educators who want to keep abreast of rapid technology change. With content that's accessible and useful today, the quarterly publication acts as a catalyst for realizing the vision of pervasive (or ubiquitous) computing, described by Mark Weiser nearly a decade ago. The essence of this vision is the creation of environments saturated with computing and wireless communication, yet gracefully integrated with human users. Many key building blocks needed for this vision are now viable commercial technologies: wearable and handheld computers, high bandwidth wireless communication, location sensing mechanisms, and so on. The challenge is to combine these technologies into a seamless whole. This will require a multidisciplinary approach, involving hardware designers, wireless engineers, human-computer interaction specialists, software agent developers, and so on.
