Deploying a generalized, multi-functional mechanism that produces good results for personalizing summarized and categorized news articles, seems to be a panacea for most of the text-based, information retrieval needs. In this paper, we present the personalization algorithm, as well as a client side application that are used as an extension to an already constructed system, PeRSSonal, in order to deliver summarized and pre-categorized news articles to the user.
