Time zone differences are a challenge to global software engineering. This column surveys the key technologies and tools that support collaboration across time zones. The insights on technologies derive from a meta-analysis of the 2010 and 2011 IEEE-sponsored International Conference on Global Software Engineering (ICGSE), among others.
