Donald Sch?n introduced the concepts of reflection in action and reflection on action in his studies of performing professionals. When we design software, we're engaged in what he calls a reflective conversation with our material; as in any conversation, it's important to listen carefully. Applying Schön's ideas to our conversation with software design materials can make them more pleasant and effective.
