This article discusses the role of process in commercial software start-ups. After identifying the features of a start-up and the differences between a start-up and an established company, the author reaches the conclusion that start-ups should indeed care about process, although for reasons and in ways that differ from those of more established companies. The article offers ways in which a start-up can approach and improve process within its organization.
