GUEST EDITORS' INTRODUTION
Mesh
Networking: Research and Technology for Multihop Wireless
Networks
Samuel Madden and Philip Levis
Mesh networking encompasses a broad class of wireless networks in which nodes
collaboratively route packets. All mesh networks' benefits, such as lower
costs, scalability, and easy installation, introduce new challenges that we
must address.
TOWARD INTEGRATION
Convenience
over Correctness
Steve Vinoski
Given all the known problems that plague RPC, and given better alternatives
such as REST, should today's distributed systems developers really be choosing
convenience over correctness?
WEB-SCALE WORKFLOW TRACK
Semantic
Provenance for eScience: Managing the Deluge of Scientific Data
Satya S. Sahoo, Amit Sheth, and Cory Henson
In contrast to workflow engines generating provenance information as a core
functionality, the specialized provenance services are integrated into a
scientific workflow on demand. This article describes an implementation of the
semantic provenance framework for glycoproteomics.
