The mission of Computing in Science & Engineering is to support the development of computing tools and methods as well as their effective use in both computational and experimental science and engineering.

Current Issue's Contents
Computing in Science and Engineering (CiSE) magazine is a joint publication of the IEEE Computer Society and the American Institute of Physics. It covers computational science and engineering research for a broad range of technical fields. Our FAQ provides more information about this title, but we also recently produced a CiSE Publication Handbook.

High-Performance Computing Applications on Novel Architectures

As chip designers struggle to increase the speed of conventional microprocessors, the scientific computing community is turning its attention to alternative architectures that utilize computational accelerators to improve the application performance. This special issue of CiSE examines several examples of computationally demanding applications implemented on novel high-performance computing architectures and points out the challenges and opportunities that these new architectures bring up.
