On Formalization of the Whole-Part Relationship in the Unified Modeling Language

Abstract—A formal definition for the semantics of the Whole-Part relationship in the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is introduced. This paper reports some discrepancies and proposes solutions to these discrepancies.
