Total Variance Approach to Software Reliability Estimation

Abstract—This paper presents a mathematical model for a new approach to calculating the confidence intervals for software reliability projections. Unlike those calculated by current methods, these confidence intervals account for any uncertainty concerning the operational profile of the system.
