ABSTRACT
<p><b>Abstract</b>—We show how a multiprocessor computer interconnected by a partitioned optical passive stars network (POPS) can simulate hypercube and mesh-connected computers. POPS algorithms for data sum, prefix sum, rank, adjacent sum, consecutive sum, concentrate, distribute, and generalize are also developed. These fundamental operations form the building blocks of parallel algorithms for many applications.</p>
