Logic Circuit for Cycle Detection in a State Diagram

A logic circuit is presented that detects cycles in an n-node state graph in o(n) basic operations. This compares favorably with software for cycle detection that requires 0(n2.8) operations and is, therefore, useful in situations where real-time detection is important.
