A business process maturity model provides standardsand measures to organizations in assessing, defining andimproving business processes, thereby guiding them toachieving business goals and values. We developed abusiness process maturity model called Value-based ProcessMaturity Model (vPMM) to tackle those goals. The vPMM isa maturity model that can indicate the capability ofcontrolling the business values of an organization andprovide guidance on how to incorporate its business valueachievement in its business process. This paper describes thecomparison results of the two business process maturitymodels; the vPMM that we developed and the BusinessProcess Maturity Model (BPMM), which is in the process ofbecoming an OMG standard. For this, we defined fourcomparison aspects - inputs, structural components, normative information, and informative information – andperformed comparison of the two maturity models.
